BACKGROUND
My name is Simon Hansard, and I founded ADL South East Ltd nine years ago as a sister company to my Chartered Architectural Practice, Ashby Design Ltd, which has been in operation for 22 years.
ADL South East Ltd was originally established to provide Principal Designer (CDM) services, however, during the process of tendering for a High-Risk Building, I became deeply involved in researching the Building Safety Act, which became law on 28th April 2022.
The Act’s emphasis on collaboration and legal requirements for coordinating design information, before construction begins, strongly resonated with me. The introduction of duty holders—key members of the development team responsible for safety—fosters greater accountability, leading to more cost-effective builds, controlled timescales, and higher-quality outcomes.
With 38 years of experience in both residential and commercial sectors, my team and I leverage our expertise in the building regulation approval process to ensure a smooth transition from conception to completion.
Our offices, located in Old Hatfield within the Gascoyne Estates portfolio, are near the historic Hatfield House and just 22 minutes from central London via King's Cross Station. We have qualified chartered professionals and a dedicated admin support team to guide you through the compliance process.
We are currently working on several applications with the Building Safety Regulator in central London and are enjoying the opportunity to collaborate with them in navigating this new process.
